Over 50 service partners, along with their families and friends walked in the Little League Parade which was the kick-off of the 2009 World Series. Over 20,000 people lined West Fourth Street from Grier to Market, including local residents and visitors from around the world. JJ Magyar and his team of EMTs led the Susquehanna Health Division with the ambulance, followed by the Gator. In addition, they transported service partners to and from the staging area. ARAMARK graciously donated bottled water for the walkers. Neil Armstrong, Michelle Gaida, Rita Spangler and Bill McClain carried the Susquehanna Health Banners followed by our enthusiastic group. We distributed 5,000 hand sanitizers and were cheered on by the crowd along the way. Cheers, waves, hollers and shouts of “sea of blue” could also be heard, not from the crowd but from the Susquehanna Health walkers. Everyone had a great time. |
