St. Joseph’s Mercy Health System recently named Andy Thompson, MHA, CMPE, CPC-A, Executive Director of Finance of the St. Joseph’s Mercy Clinic.
Thompson joins St. Joseph’s Mercy Clinic with three years of healthcare experience as an operations manager for St. John’s Clinic in Springfield, Missouri, a fellow Sisters of Mercy Health System (Mercy) physician partnership. More recently, Thompson was a Senior Consultant with BKD, LLP, one of the 10 largest CPA and advisory firms in the United States.
“I am very excited to be back working with the Mercy Health System,” said Thompson. “It is an honor to be employed by an organization whose mission is to care for the entire community. I plan to continue that tradition by helping the Mercy Clinic grow and integrate successfully.”
Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2001 and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Missouri State University in 2004. He also possesses a certified professional coder-apprentice certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders, as well as a certified medical practice executive certification from the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
“My position as Executive Director of Finance will be both challenging and rewarding,” Thompson said. “It is also a great thrill to be working again with St. Joseph’s Mercy Clinic Chief Operating Officer Andy Runge and St. Joseph’s Mercy Health System President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Johnsen. They are excellent leaders and true mentors.”
Thompson and his wife, Beth, reside in Benton, Arkansas with their daughter, Ivy.
