System provides superb image quality for clinical, surgical, and vascular applications
NOVEMBER 3, 2008HEMET, CA -- Hemet Valley Medical Center (HVMC) is proud to announce the arrival and immediate use of the GE Healthcare OEC© 9900 Elite C-arm, GE’s flagship product in the surgical C-arm family. The purchase was made possible by a donation of $180,000 from the Hemet Hospital Foundation, and benefits both physicians and patients.
“The system provides much better images for the doctor, and performs faster than previous technology,” said Dr. Girdhari Purohit, HVMC Chief of Staff. “This benefits the patient by reducing the overall time a patient is in surgery and under anesthesia.”
The new technology benefits surgeons by providing superb image quality to help guide instruments for orthopedic, cardiac, urologic, and vascular procedures. Promoted as “eyes inside the body,” the mobile imaging system helps the physician navigate to the diseased or injured area more quickly; resulting in less exposure from the multiple images that previously had to be taken, as well as shorter surgical times for the patient.
