History Of Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centres
Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centres was initially established in 1963 by a group of interested citizens in Halifax who felt the need for such a service in their community. Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centres has grown to encompass all regions of Nova Scotia and individual Centres are located in 25 communities throughout the province. School aged children receive speech and language services through school boards.

Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists are trained health care professionals who assist people with hearing and speech and language disorders. If you are interested in pursuing a career in these professions more information is available at the School of Human Communications Disorders, Dahousie University.
In 2001 the Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Clinic became Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centres and a new logo was developed in order to better reflect the services we provide to communities throughout Nova Scotia.
