** MISSION STATEMENT **
The Dartmouth General Hospital Charitable Foundation’s mission is to promote and support, through fundraising and advocacy, the delivery of health care at the Dartmouth General Hospital and within its surrounding communities.
Located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, The Dartmouth General Hospital Charitable Foundation was established in 1975. It is an independently registered charitable organization whose purpose is to provide funding to enhance patient care at the Dartmouth General Hospital through the purchase of equipment, hospital renovation and expansion, and the support of special programs and projects. The Foundation is not affiliated with any other fundraising organization.
Since its establishment, and through the generosity of the community, the Foundation has helped to fund three major building expansions and has invested more than $35 million in equipment, facilities, and programs at the Dartmouth General Hospital. On an annual basis, the Foundation purchases more than $500,000 in patient-related equipment for the hospital. In total, the Foundation.
The Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation is governed by a voluntary board of directors with representatives from the local community and the hospital. Funds are raised through major gift solicitation, community mail appeals, special events, planned giving, memorial gifts, other fundraising activities, investments, and parking revenue.
