** About Us **
Founded in 1996, Wellmont Health System is guided by our mission to deliver superior health care with compassion and a vision to deliver the best health care anywhere. Wellmont is the premier healthcare provider in the Tri-State region, with hospitals and healthcare facilities in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Southeast Kentucky. Our not-for-profit healthcare system includes eight full-service hospitals: acute care hospitals Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn., Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tenn., Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton, Va., Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Va., Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Va., and Hawkins County Memorial Hospital in Rogersville, Tenn., and Hancock County Hospital in Sneedville, Tenn, a critical access hospital. Wellmont is an operating partner with Adventist Health System at Takoma Regional Hospital, an acute care hospital in Greeneville, Tenn. Wellmont maintains clinical affiliations with two acute care hospitals in Virginia, Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands and Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville. Wellmont hospitals offer a broad scope of services ranging from community-based acute care to highly specialized tertiary services including neonatal intensive care and two trauma centers.
Complementing the services provided by each Wellmont hospital are other facilities within the system. Ridgeview Pavilion in Bristol offers comprehensive psychiatric services. Wellmont Madison House, located in Kingsport, provides assisted living and a therapeutic day program for frail elderly persons and mid-life adults with chronic illness. Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol offers care for terminally ill patients in a comfortable environment.
Wellmont Health System is governed by a volunteer board of directors made up of physicians, business leaders and community residents. In addition, a board of directors at each hospital provides guidance and input.
Wellmont is one of the region’s largest employers with a staff of more than 7000 dedicated professionals. Nearly 600 physicians deliver care at Wellmont facilities across Northeast Tennessee, and Southwest Virginia.
