** About De Queen Medical Center **
De Queen Medical Center was founded in 1968. The hospital, known at that time as De Queen General Hospital, was a 122 bed Acute Care Facility. De Queen General Hospital operated as a for-profit organization until late 1999 when it became a non-profit entity, known as De Queen Regional Medical Center. Throughout its history, DQMC has been known by several names and been managed by several organizations.
In September 2004, the facility experienced extreme financial difficulties and was purchased by JCE Healthcare, which is headquartered in De Quincy, Louisiana. Since this time, we have made a lot of changes, which have produced positive results. The Ladies’ Auxiliary moved into a new Gift Shop, Patient Registration is now in the Front Lobby, and patient rooms are being remodeled. This organization, like so many other health care facilities, has experienced a lot of peaks and valleys. We are climbing to the pinnacle now as we daily strive to provide quality health care to our community. Our slogan, “Neighbors Caring for Neighbors” represents our commitment.
