** About Us **
Shoals Hospital was founded in 1968 by a group of physicians dedicated to improving health care services for the residents of Colbert County. That dedication is still evident today as our team of health care professionals strives to provide the best possible medical care to our patients on a daily basis.
Shoals Hospital is a community hospital providing general acute care and features spacious, private rooms for all patients. Our services include a 24-hour Emergency Department, Medical/Oncology, Medical/Surgical inpatient units as well as Intensive Care and a Short Stay Surgery unit. We also operate the area’s only in-patient acute rehab facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehab Unit and the Shoals Center Care Center, the area’s only geropsych unit.
The Open MRI Center, adjacent to Shoals Hospital compliments our full service Imaging and Diagnostics Department, Nuclear Medicine, CT scans, Ultrasound and X-ray.
Outpatient services include radiology tests, laboratory tests and physical, occupational and speech therapies.
Our Occupational Medicine program: “Working Fit-Taking Care of Business in the Shoals,” is assisting more than 60 companies with their employee wellness and prevention programs.
We are committed to community education efforts such as physician lecture series, immunization programs, community health fairs, including health screenings on a regular basis.
In addition to providing excellent medical care, our employees continually participate in community service projects including raising funds for the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, the March of Dimes and the United Way.
Shoals Hospital employs 250 people and has more than 100 physicians on staff. Along with ECM Hospital in Florence, Shoals is an affiliate of RegionalCare Hospital Partners.
