Advance VisionCare has been operating since 2002.Mr C.T.
Pillai, Medical Director and Consultant Refractive Surgeon
opened up the clinic in the prestigious location of Harley Street.
Advance VisionCare is very different from other commercial clinics
in that it is a single-surgeon oriented clinic, where Mr Pillai
offers the best possible treatment available today using the
very latest 'wavefront' technology combined with an exceptional
level of personalised patient care.

ongoing education and training within the optical community,
on the latest advances in refractive surgery.
The Medical Director
At Advance VisionCare all laser vision correction procedures
are exclusively carried out by our full-time Consultant Refractive
Surgeon, Mr. C.T. Pillai.

Our Medical Director Mr. C.T. Pillai MD DO FRCS FRCOphth , is
UK & USA licensed and is also one of the UK's most experienced
Consultant Refractive Surgeons. During the last 8 years he has
successfully carried out thousands of LASIK treatments and is
also experienced in a wide range of other eye surgery procedures
(cataract, glaucoma, corneal transplantations).
In the unlikely event that there are side-effects, all patients
will be personally managed by Mr Pillai and we have procedures
in place if further expert management is required.

Track Record
Mr. Pillai acquired his extensive training and experience in
the UK and the USA and is one of the few UK surgeons to have
completed 2 fellowships, one in cornea and refractive surgery
(University of Texas, Dallas, USA), and one in cornea surgery
and anterior segment diseases (The Queen Victoria Hospital,
East Grinstead, UK).
He was one of the first consultants in this country to carry
out bilateral LASIK (both eyes are treated in the same
procedure) and is now widely regarded as one of the UK’s most
experienced refractive surgeons, having performed over 10,000
LASIK, 1,000 LASEK, 2,000 PRK, 2,000 Phaco procedures and 250
corneal transplants.
The Clinical Team
At Advance VisionCare we treat all our patients as individuals.
Our dedicated team will take time to reassure you, answer
your questions and familiarise you with every stage of the
diagnostic, treatment and post-treatment process.
You will be introduced to a specialist who will advise you
about the results you can expect. Treatment will only take
place once we are confident that it will be suitable for you;
and when you decide to proceed.
After the treatment is completed we will ensure you continue
to receive the same high levels of care and understanding
throughout our comprehensive after-care programme.
Mr. C.T. Pillai, MD DO FRCS FRCOphth, is the Medical Director
at Advance VisionCare and is one of UK's most respected, highly
trained and experienced Consultant Refractive Surgeons, who
carries out all Advance VisionCare’s surgical procedures.
Mr. Pillai is licensed to practice both in the UK and the
USA and is one of the few UK surgeons to have completed 2
fellowships in cornea and laser refractive surgery: one at
the University of Texas, Dallas, USA; and the other with Tom
Casey, one of the pioneering corneal surgeons, at Hillingdon
Hospital.
Mr. Pillai specialises in cornea and anterior segment surgery
and has worked with a number of well-known international surgeons
including Tom Casey (UK), Dr. Stephen Wilson (USA), and Dr.
Cavanaugh (USA). In addition, Mr. Pillai has provided refractive
surgery training for many Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeons.
Our clinical team is chosen because of their optometric experience
of working within the field of refractive surgery. Your care
will be overseen at all times by Mr. C.T. Pillai and the same
clinical team. Our dedicated clinical team will provide you
with all the reassurance you need to ensure you receive the
best possible care before, during and after your treatment.
