| Alberta Cancer Board stabilizing diagnostic isotope supply |

The Alberta Cancer Board is working to stabilize the supply of radioisotopes used for diagnostic scans in the province.
“In Alberta, we are not as reliant on the Chalk River reactor as other parts of Canada,” says Jean-Michel Turc, president and CEO of the Alberta Cancer Board. “We contract directly with a European supplier, and we are also fortunate to have the Edmonton Radiopharmaceutical Centre at our Cross Cancer Institute and a cyclotron that can be used to develop alternative radioactive agents.”
