** About Us **
CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) is a leader in the treatment and study of blood disorders and in cancer prevention, detection, care, treatment, research, and education. CCMB is mandated to provide cancer and related services to the people of Manitoba and does so through two tertiary sites – the MacCharles site at 675 McDermot Avenue (on the Health Sciences Centre campus) and the St. Boniface Unit within the St. Boniface General Hospital – as well as community hospital sites in Winnipeg and 16 Community Cancer Programs (CCPs).
The Winnipeg community hospital sites providing cancer services – Concordia Hospital, Seven Oaks General Hospital, Grace General Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, and the Breast Health Centre –- are jointly managed by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) and CancerCare Manitoba. Cancer services within the 16 Community Cancer Programs outside of Winnipeg are provided via the Community Cancer Program Network (CCPN), a partnership between CCMB and the various Regional Health Authorities. The primary focus of the CCPN is to provide care closer to home.
In addition to serving the province of Manitoba (1.2 million), CCMB also provides some services for populations in the adjacent jurisdictions of Northwestern Ontario, Nunavut, and Saskatchewan.
** Our Mission **
CancerCare Manitoba is charged by an act of legislature of Manitoba with responsibility for cancer prevention, detection, care, research and education for the people of Manitoba.
As a centre of choice, we are dedicated to excellence in cancer care, to enhancing quality of life for those living with cancer and blood disorders, and to improving cancer control for all Manitobans.
** Our Vision **
With our partners, we will change the course of cancer in Manitoba.
